ALL-PARTY MEET WEDNESDAY Kathmandu, 20 June; An all-party meeting of ruling and opposition parties is being meeting is being held Wednesday to discuss an outlet to a political and constitutional crisis. Twenty-seven parties are on a three-week anti-government and anti-Maoist protests opposing Prime Munister Baburam Bhattarai’s unilateral decision to order snap constituent assembly (CA) polls on 22 November with a call for formation oof a national government. Government of Maoists and Madeshi parties says the call for election is constitutional. The meeting is being held in the was absence of Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai who is in Brazil to attend a UN-sponsored conference on sustainable development. The parties will review the situation after call for 22 November elections and automatic dissolution of constituent assembly/parliament. Nnnn CPN (MAOIST) CENTRAL COMMITTEE MEET Kathmandu, 20 June: CPN (Maoist) Baidhaya is holding its first central committee meeting Wednesday after launching the party Monday by breaking away from the ruling UCPN Maoist. Organizational matters, political agenda and other issues will be raised at the meeting, Khadka Bahadur Bishwamarka said. The party has to appoint office bearers, including central committee members. nnnn. NEPAL PLAYS PAKISTAN IN ITS OPENING ASIA CUP MATCH Kathmandu, 20 June: Nepal plays Pakistan 23 June in the ACC U-19 Asia Cup after schedule was revised at the last moment. The tournament is being held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 23 June to 1 July. Nepal was earlier scheduled to play India in its first outing. Nepal plays host Malaysia 25 June and India one day later in Group A Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Qatar and Sri Lanka are in Group B. Two top teams of each group will qualify for the semi-finals from 29 and 29 June and the final is scheduled in 1 July. nnnn.
