BAGMATI FESTIVAL BEGIMS SATURDAY Kathmandu, 9 June: An extended annual campaign to clean up Bagmati and other Valley rivers began Saturday.. The Bagmati Festival to clean up the river was launched 11 years ago. The holy river is polluted and is even a health hazard. MERCURY SOARS AS SUMMER PEAKS Kathmandu,:9 June: Above 40 degrees Celcius temperatures were recorded Friday in Dipayal, Dhangadi, Birendranagar, Nepalgunj and Bhairahawa as summer peaks. Mercury rose to 40.8 degrees Celsius in Dipayal, 41.6 degrees Celsius in Dhangadhi, 40.0 Celsius in Birendranagar, 43.0 Celsius in Nepalgunj and 41.8 degrees Celsius in Bhairahawa. Mercury hit 34,2 degrees Celsius in the capital Friday nnnn
