BOMB EXPLODES AT PROGRAMME WHERE ,FINANCE MINISTER BARSHA MAN PUN WAS PRESENT Kathmandu, 2 June: Maoist Finance Minister Barsha Man Pun was unhurt when a pipe bomb exploded at a programme on Jalbire, Sindhupalchowk Saturday. The bomb exploded at the gate of a school building in the town. MORE NEMWANG SITUATION COMPLEX AFTER NOV.22 ELECTION CALL Kathmandu, 2 June: Former Chairman of the Constituent Assembly Subas Nembang said that complexities were seen in politics after the dissolution of the CA, RSS reports. Speaking at a programme organised on the silver jubilee occasion of Sociological Anthropological Society of Nepal today, Nembang said the political parties should join hands together to maintain harmony among all ethnic communities, languages, cultures of all regions across the country. Speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chancellor of the Mid-Western University Padmalal Devkota, member secretary of Tribhuvan University Grant Commission Bhola Pokhrel, sociologist Dilliram Dahal, Kailashnath Pyakurel, among others, urged the leaders for social transformation. Chairman of Society Prof Dr Ganeshman Gurung pledged that the Society would remain committed to maintain social harmony by carrying out different researches on development of human society across the globe. nnnn MAOIST CHIEF EFFORTS RESOLUTION OF PARTY DIFFERENCES Kathmandu, 2 June: Chairman of the UCPN-Maoist Pushpa Kamal Dahal has discussed with some influential leaders of the party in a bid to resolve differences seen in the party between the establishment and Baidya faction, RSS reports. Chairman Dahal held talks with party standing committee member Krishna Bahadur Mahara to find a possible way regarding the party unity, according to Dahal's aide Shiva Khakurel. Khakurel said Chairman Dahal would hold talks the whole day on Saturday with other leaders as well for his attempt to keep the party intact. Earlier, Chairman Dahal had given responsibilities to Vice-chairman Narayan Kaji Shrestha and leader Mahara to find the possible ways for party unity. On Friday, Chairman Dahal had told at the party meeting that he was even ready to quit the post of Chairman for the party unity. Maoist politburo member Haribol Gajurel said Chairman Dahal has said that he is ready to quit if his resignation supports to keep the party intact. Majority of the leaders in the central committee meeting urged the party chairman and other senior leaders to take initiative for party unity. Nnnn UPDATE BMF EXPELS THREE MAOIST MMEBERS Kathmandu, 2 June: Broader Madhesi Front (BMF) Saturday announced Expulsion from the group for breaching a code of conduct. The Front (BMF) Saturday announced expulsion of Maoist central members Ram Rijhan Yadav, press aide of the premier. Prabhu Sah and Ram Kumar Sah in the capital. The trio were charged for indiscipline. The Front called for the resignation of Prime Minister Babram Bhattarai. nnnn. NC PRESIDENT SUSHIL KOIRALA ASKS WORKERS TO COME OUT ON STREETS Kathmandu, 2 Nov.: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sushil Koirala has directed the party cadres to take to the streets against the government accusing the latter of pushing the country towards further instability by dissolving the Constituent Assembly (CA) unconstitutionally, RSS reports. Directing the party leaders at his residence in Maharajgunj today, the NC chief urged the leaders for their effective roles to make the mass meeting of June 8 a success. NC central member Arjun Narsingh KC told reporters that the party president urged the leaders to coordinate with other opposition parties also to conclude the mass meeting. KC said the meeting also drew a conclusion to face the challenges created with the CA dissolution saying that the government decision to the CA dissolution has proved that the Maoists were trying to impose their decisions on others at any cost. NC president said that the NC was forced to hit the streets as constitutional crisis was created lately by the Maoist party's decision, according to KC. Opposition parties have decided to organise a mass meeting on June 8 against the government saying that the government decision to announce the fresh CA elections was unconstitutional. nnnn
