BRITISH MINISTER SAYS NEPAL PASSING THROUGH
UNCERTAIN TIMES UPDATE
Kathmandu, 27 June: Visiting British Minister of state for International Development said Wednesday Nepal is passing throiugh uncertain times.
“I appreciate these are uncertain times and it is important that everyone understands that by visiting Nepal it is not my intention to meddle in Nepal’s political processes,” he said, expressing happiness over his warm reception in Nepal.
“The United Kingdom is an old friend of Nepal, and as such this visit is in the spirit of friendship. We share the people of Nepal’s commitment to find a peaceful and early solution to the political situation so that the country can finally move on from its legacy of conflict towards a time of peace and prosperity for everyone.
“My message has been consistent: we support Nepal, we encourage you to find a solution which will provide the country with political stability and we will continue to provide diplomatic and development support. These messages were well received and I remain hopeful that a solution will be found sooner rather than later, “Duncan said.in a statement.”
He held discussions Wednesday with Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai and President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav as well.
The minister concludes a three-day visit Thursday.
