CHINESE COMPANY AWARDED TELECOM PROJECT
Kathmandu, 25 June: Nepal Telecom (NT) Monday awarded China’s Huawei
a Rs 6.75 billion contract for the first phase of installation and supply of
GSM lines..
Managing Director of NT Amar Nath Singh and Lian Shi Cheng,
commercial manager, and Rubhesh Jha, sales director of the Chinese company signed the contract.
Huawei will install and supply equipment for 4.8 million GSM lines
within two years.

Inaugurating the 3-day national child protection gathering organized by the National Child Protection Network, Nepal here on Monday, former CA Chairman Nembang warned that country would face serious crisis if the parties failed to forge consensus immediately.
It is not time to engage in blame game, but the time to remove constitutional and political vacuity, he added.
Leader Nembang further expressed doubt over the election to constituent assembly at a time the Election Commission and Supreme Court were facing manpower crunch.
On the occasion, former CA member Shanta Adhikari expressed worries that Nepal was getting listed as the country of child labour. She demanded a children-friendly constitution.
