DON’T WORRY OVER ‘MINORITY’ WALKOUTSAYS MAHARA REFERRING TO MAOIST SPLIT
Kathmandu, 22 June: UCPN (Maoist) Standing Committee member Krishna Bahadur Mahara said the party cadres should not panic over the walkout of a small group of Mohan Baidya's faction from the party, RSS reports from Pokhara.
Inaugurating the third central gathering of the national employees' organization of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) on Friday, Mahara, said splitting party at the time consensus and unity were needed within party was a serious deception. It would be evaluated by the people, he added.
Similarly, leader Mahara said the Maoist paty was ready to wage any sort of struggle for the sake of identity-ensured constitution.
Mahara pointed out the need to forge political consensus. He said that the party is ready to form the national consensus government only after ensuring the constitution with the guarantee of ethnicity-based federalism.
On the occasion, NEA General Manager Upendra Dev Bhatta said if some amount spent on purchasing petroleum products was invested in electricity generation, energy crisis would reduce to some extent.
