EVEN MNISTR SAYS 22 NOVEMBER ELECTION ISN’T POSSIBLE
Kathmandu, 21 June: Minister for Land Reforms and Management Chandra Dev Joshi claimed that the election of the Constituent Assembly (CA) slated for November 22 is impossible until the interim constitution and Election Code of Conduct were amended, RSS reports.
Speaking at a programme organised by Reporters Club in the Capital on Thursday, Minister Joshi said that the CA election was not possible on slated time as nothing has been fixed including the size and type of the CA.
Joshi, however, said that the government had no option but to declare the CA election after the automatic expiry of CA on May 27.
Minister Joshi was of the opinion that consensus among the political parties was needed to hold the CA election. "Otherwise imagining the CA election on November 22 is worthless," he added.
