FORMER UML JANAJATI LAWMAKERS BOYCOTT PARTY MEET Kathmandu, 1 June: The CPN-UML has informed its former lawmakers of the Constituent Assembly (CA) dissolution and political developments after the dissolution, RSS reports. At a discussion held today [Friday] at the party headquarters at Balkhu, leaders of the party informed its former lawmakers that the UCPN-Maoist was the main accused for the dissolution of the CA. On the occasion, top leaders of the CPN-UML including Chairman Jhalanath Khanal said that the UCPN-Maoist declared fresh election suddenly though the CPN-UML had tried to save the CA by declaring state of emergency. After the meeting, Secretary and Chief of the Parliamentary Department of the CPN-UML, Shankar Pokhrel urged the party’s former lawmakers to go to villages with the very concept. Some former lawmakers of ethnic background were not present in the meeting.While asked on this, Pokhrel said that they could not be present there due to technical problem. Similarly, a politburo meeting of the party is going to be held after a while today itself. Nnnn VEHICULAR ACCIDENT KILLS ONE; DOZENS INJURED Kathmandu, 1 June: At least 12 persons were injured in a road accident at Banahara bridge of Jhalari-7 in Kanchanpur district along the East-West Highway this afternoon {Friday], RSS reports from Kanchankpur.. The accident took place when a bus coming from Dhangadhi hit another bus from the backside as the former followed the latter. Of the injured, seven are undergoing treatment at Sewa Nursing home at Attariya and remaining passengers with minor injuries are undergoing treatment at a pharmacy in Jhalari. According to the Area police Office, Jhalari, condition of five injured is critical. Police have arrested a driver of one of the buses and the other driver is undergoing treatment as he was also injured in the accident. Eighteen people have been injured in a vehicle accident at Khairahani in the east of the district today [Friday], RSS reports from Chitwan; . The accident took place when a passenger bus heading towards Kathmandu from the east collided with a stationary tanker on the East-West highway at local Khairahani-4 this morning. Fourteen of the injured passengers are undergoing treatment at the Bharatpur Hospital and four others with minor injuries are receiving treatment at a local health post, police said. The bus driver is under police control. A woman was killed after a bus hit in Syambhunath Friday. More than 50 persons were injured in a Bus accident at Dhungepane in Bhaktapur Friday. The overcrowded bus was plying between Bhaktapur and Changhunarayan. nnnn
