GLACIAL BURST THREAT IN SOLU TERRORIZESS PEOPLE Kathmandu, 27 June: People of Solukhumbu have been terrorized with the rumors that the Imja glacial lake will burst. "I don't know how this was spread, but it has terrorized many," said officiating Chief District Officer Tek Nath Dahal, RSS reports from Solu.. Although the police of the sector have been made active, there is no information on any possibility of outburst, he said. Police Inspector Ramesh Basnet said although various bodies have alerted on the possibility of its outburst and large damages from it, nothing has been definitely known. He said the locals of the river banks and higher place police were enquired but nothing was clear. Chairman of the Khumbu Civil Society at Namche Ang Tenjing Sherpa said there is no possibility of the lake outburst. He said there is no rumour in and around Namche and there is no danger either. Officiating CDO Dahal said police of the areas including Namche have been alerted but no surface of water has been found to be increased. Locals of Solukhumbu and around Koshi River have been panicked of the rumor of large damages with the possibility of Dudhkund at Taksindu VDC -6 and Imja glacial lake outburst in Khumjung VDC of Solukhumbu. The rumour was spread after one national television prepared a programme with the possibility of the outburst of Imja glacial la nnnn
