ONLY TWO DISTRICTS REMAIN TO BE LINKED BY ROAD
Kathmandu, 30 June: Grains now have to be transported by helicopter to
only two of 75districts, Suraj Kuwar writes in Katipur
Except Humla and Jumla, all other districts have been linked by road.
It’s possible to transport grains overland in the winter.

UPDATE ON UNION OFFICE VANDALIZATION
Kathmandu, 30 June: A group of 30 to 40 persons overnight vandalized the office of the Free Students’ Union and Economics Department at TU in Kirtipur.
The Department Friday published results of examinations it had conducted.
Records and computers at the Union office were destroyed at the Union
office.

54th PARLIAMENT DAY BEING OBSERVED SATURDAY
Kathmandu, 30 June: The 54th Parliament Day.
is being observed Saturday without parliament which has been automatically dissolved after government unilaterally announced constituent assembly elections
22 November.
Nepal’s first elected parliament met exactly 54 years ago.
NC, the second largest party, before dissolution of parliament, gained an absolute ajority in the 1959 parliamentary elections.
The legislature was dissolved by King Mahendra in December 1960 after a short experiment with parliamentary democracy.
