Kathmandu, 14 June: The capital recorded the highest temperature in 23
years Thursday.
The mercury soared to 35.2 degrees Celsius.

Kathmandu, 14 June: Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai spent Wednesday night at remote Jonemahankal and interacted with people in the community answering their queries.
He spent the night there with wife Hishila and some close to him in a new programme to spend one night every month at a village.
He launched his drive after announcing constituent assembly elections 22 November which has become controversial.
His first initiative at keeping in touch with people through Hello Nepal over telephonehas roved a flop.
Telephone callers are pestering officials at the office of the premier
asking harassing questions, officials said.

Kathmandu, 14 June: The health condition of former Prime Minister
Surya Bahadur Thapa who suffered a massive heart attack Saturday continues, aide Kiran Giri sai Thursday.
The chairman of Rashtriya Janashakti Party walked for some time at
Hospital premises Thursday after being moved Wednesday to a VIP ward
from the ICU at Norvic Hospital.
