MAOIST STANDING COMMITTEE BEGINS
Kathmandu, 13 June: Maoist standing committee began Wednesday morning after dissident First Vice-chairman Mohan Baidhaya group Ruesday demandedawritten apology from Chairman Chairman on ‘aberrations;
Ideological differences started after the establishment decided to opt for integration of former Maoist combatant sin Nepal Army y to be completed,
Chairman Prachanda met Baidhya and called for unity Tuesday.
The meeting is expected to continue Wednesday.
The standing committee is considering Baidhaya demands.

US TO PROVIDE $6 MILLION FOR MEALS FORPRE-PRIMARY AND PRIMALY LEVEL STUDENTS
Kathmandu, 13 June: United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has granted US$6 million (Rs 536.58 million) for School Feeding Programme for the students of pre-primary and primary levels for the next three years , US embassy said.
.Altogether 210,000 children will get mid-day meals at 1800 schools in 11 districts of the mid- and far-West.
“I am very pleased to see that the United States Department of Agriculture support is helping thousands of school children in rural villages of Nepal receive the nutrition they need to pursue their studies and increase their ability to learn keeping hunger at bay,” said Mary Allen, the chief of the USDA McGovern Dole mission, as saying.
