OPPOSITION SHOW OF FORCE Kathmandu, 8 June: In what has been described a show of force, opposition led by NC and UML is coming out of the street protests to peacefully reject the government declaration of constituent assembly (CA) election 22 November and automatic dissultion of the assembly. Opposition claimed it will bring more than 100,000 persons on the streets to oppose what has been called an illegal and unconstitutional action of Prime Munister Baburam Bhattarai government and Madeshsbadi Morcha. Supporters of 22 parties will converge on Open Air Theatre from different points of the capital. Party leaders will address the meeting from two to five in the afternoon. Government says there was no alternative to election and the dissolution of the CA. “The supreme court ordered the decision,” the prime minister said.
