PERSONS EVICTED FROM THAPATHALI TO BE RESETTLED AT SUNDARI GHAT Kathmandu, 13 June: Giving in to party pressure for eviction of settlers along the Bagmati river at Thapathali, government has decided o construct and resettle some of the uprooted at Sundari Ghat in Lalitpur on government land. Forty-eight homes are being constructed for so-called ‘landless’ persons. Locals at Chovar protested government plans to resettle them on land of a cement factory that has been closed down.
