PM CONSULTS DEUBA, MADHAV KUMAR NEPAL Kathmandu, 6 June: Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai held discussions with senior NC leader Sher Bahadur Deuba and sought the latter’s cooperation to conduct constituent assembly (CA) election announced by government 22 November. The meeting was held at the Deuba residence in the premier’s drive to hold meetingswith former governments after 2047 to seek their support. The move has been widely condemned and anti-government protests have. swelled. The premier also held discussions with UML leader and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal Nepal Wednesday. Bhattarai has already held discussions with his party boss Prachanda and UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal. Deuba asked the premier to restore CA for a brief period to promulgate a constitution. nnnn . NC JANAJATI LEADERS THREATEN TO QUIT PARTY Kathmandu, 6 June: NC Janatjati leaders increased pressure on NC leadership with 122 general convention members handing over a memorandum to President Sushil Koirala Wednesday asking an ethnic province.
