26 OPPOSITION PARTIES SAY GOVT. CAN’T ANNOUNCE COMPLETE BUDGET UPDATE Kathmandu, 3 July: Twenty-six opposition parties Tuesday said the caretaker government of Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai government can’t announce a complete budget for fiscal year 2069/.70 that begins mid-July. The opposition decided to ask President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav not to enorse such a budget if presented by government. Finance Minister Barsha Man Pun Tuesday said in the capital the head of state can’t top government from introducing a full budget it plans announce through an ordinance. The parties asked the government chief to clear Singha Durbar for a national government. nnnn INDIAN CONVICTED FOR MONEY LAUNDERING Kathmandu, 3 July: A division bench of special court Tuesday convicted Indian national Dharmabir Paswan, for money landering. He was awarded a year’s jail sentence. Paswan was arrested October 2011 with Rs.2.05 million from Janakpur Railway Station and couldn’t account for the money’s source.in possession of Rs 2.05 million on October 19 last year. A division bench of Justices Gauri Bahadur Karki and Om Prakash Mishra issued the verdict, with the conclusion that the money confiscated from his possession was white money. The money was confiscated while the asked Paswan to pay an equivalent amount in fine. nnnn KAMAL THAPA REITERATES CALL FOR ELECTION GOVT. Kathmandu, 3 July: Chairman of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), Kamal Thapa, has said that an electoral government should be formed to remove existing constitutional crisis and hold fair elections for the Constituent Assembly (CA), RSS reports from Janakpurdham. Talking to media persons at the Janakpur Airport today, Thapa said that Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai should resign from the post so as to pave the way for formation of an electoral government. He added that there was no possibility of holding the CA elections in a free and fair manner by this government. He claimed that the elections could be held in a free and fair manner only after a government under the leadership of former or incumbent chief justices comprising the civil society representatives was formed. Thapa further said that the government should immediately provide fertilizer to farmers. The RPP Chairman stressed on the need of a Hindu country with a constitutional monarchy. The incumbent government with caretaker status could not bring the complete budget, he said. Thapa was here in course of attending a condolence meeting for party Vice-Chairman Hem Bahadur Malla who had passed away recently. nnnn
