CIVIL SERVANTS DEMAND PAY INCREASE Kathmandu, 7 July: Civil servants Friday demanded a flat Rs. 7,000 increase in their monthly salary in the new budget 2069/70 from mid-July.. Nnnn CHITRA BAHADUR KC BLAMES MAOISTS, NC AND UML FOR FORMER KING’S TALKS OF MONARCHY RETURN Kathmandu, 7 June: Veteran independent communist leader and Chairman of Rashtriya Chitra Bahadur KC told a FM radio station Saturday former King Gyanendra has talked of monarchy’s return because of Maoists ,NC and UML behavjour and performance in that order in last four years. “He [former king] left very easily. We didn’t think it would happen so “First Maoists and then NC and UML are responsible because of their irresponsibility behaviour in that order in the last four years, ‘KC said.. NC and UML are suing as a stepping stone for power grab only, he said. :”Even if monarchy is reinstated, the country’s problems can’t be resolved. “We created hundreds of kings.’ The opponent of federal structure said even though monarchy was toppled and a republic was declared feudalism still prevailed’... He reminded ‘monarchy was reinstated in Great Britain and France’ after it was was toppled. :”Feudalism is still widespread in Nepal,” he said but ruled out its reinstatement through referendum or other political exercises.
