EC OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCES NO ELECTION 22 NOVEMBER; GOVT. SILENT
Kathmandu, 30 July: Election Commission (EC)officially announced the
22 November constituent assembly announced unilaterally by government can’t be held within the deadline.
There’s no agreement between parties whether national election should be
held for CA or parliament.
Chief Election Commissioner Neel Kantha Uprety and spokesperson
Sharada Prasad Trital announced the Commission conclusion Monday.
Government didn’t amend articles concerning elections in an
interim election or amend laws related to election to conduct the popular
vote on four years.
The two officials said besides amendments, consensus was needed
between parties for a vote.
