FOREIGN MINISTER SHRESTHA OPPOSES AGREEMENTS
SIGNED BY BHATTARAI GOVT. WITH INDIA AND OTHER
COUNTRIES
Kathmandu, 23 July: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Narayan Kazi Shrestha slashed out at Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai Monday for signing a bilateral trade and investment agreement with India without consultation in the party and other parties.
He called for a ‘correction and ‘review’ of the agreement.
Shrestha said differences with PM Bhattarai ‘were serious’ and called for a
review of all all treaties and agreements signed by tje Bhattarai government.
Shrestha said he opposed the agreement in talks with Indian Prime
Minister Manmohan Singh and in the cabinet.
The agreement isn’t in national interest, Shrestha said.
