FURTHER DETAILS OFJOSHI CONVICTION
Kathmandu, 25 July: The charge was filled by CIAA.
The supreme court ordered a review of an earlier case
dismissng the charge on a technicality.
A full bench issued the verdict.
Former NC Home Minister Chiranjivi, close to Sher Bahadur Deuba, has
completed a jail sentnce for corruption; MJFN Ganatantrik Chairman Jaya Praakash Prasad Gupta, communication minister in the Koirala cabinet, is also
behind bars convicted for corruption.
His case was also resurrected on supreme court order.
The court said Joshi has assets not commensurate with his income.
Joshu’s ’s brother-in-law Basudev Pant
was declared an accomplice and imposed a six-month jail sentence along
with a Rs.6.556 million fine.
