KAMAL THAPA BLASTS PM
Kathmandu, 11 July: RPP-N Chairman Kamal Thapa said Wednesday in
Kaski people support monarchy because of the ‘serious crimes’ committed
by political parties.
Thapa told a public meeting people expected parties to deliver after Janaandolan Two
and added ‘people are disappointed’ and are demanding the king should stage a comeback.
He termed Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai hreat to withdraw facilities guaranteed to the king as a weakness of the head of government.
Thapa pointed out the prime minister should assure security of citizens.
Any prime minister who can’t guarantee such security should quit, Thapa
said.

WRITE FILED IN SC DEMANDING BAN ON BANDHS
Kathamandu, 11 July: A writ petition has been filed at the Supreme Court on Wednesday demanding a stringent law against the organizing of bandh or shut down in any part of the Nepali territory, RSS reports.
In the writ filed by advocate Bhoj Bahadur KC, a demand has been made to the apex court to issue an order in the name of the Government to immediately bring a law through ordinance to ban bandhs in the country.
The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers and the Ministry of Law and Justice have been named as defendants in the writ.
According to latest statistics, Nepal faced 128 days of bandh or strike at the nationwide, district and regional level between May 2011 to May 2012. RSS
