LAMJUNG PRISON WALL COLLAPSES
Kathmandu, 20 July:: The old building of the District Prison House, Lamjung, has collapsed on Thursday due to heavy rain. The eastern wall of the prison house collapsed due to incessant rainfall for some days, Chief District Officer Baburam Bhandari
said, RSS reports from Lamjung..
Bhandari said that construction work of the collapsed building would be started from today itself.
The building constructed in 2030 B.S was in a dilapidated condition and was brought into operation by partial maintenance after the building collapsed a decade ago too.
The district administration office said that additional security personnel have been deployed for preventing the prisoners fleeing from jailhouse.
At present, 39 jailbirds are housed in the jail, 14 more than its capacity.

TWO ARRESTED FOR ROBBING RS.1.5 MILLION FROM
YARSHAGUMBA COLLECTORS
Kathmandu, 20 July: Police arrested three youths from Gotamkot of Rukum district on Thursday for their alleged involvement in a looting case. The youths have been charged of looting Rs 1.5 million from two Yachagumba collectors. RSS reports from Rukum.
The arrested are Yadunath, 28 and Dipendra Bhandari, 19, of Gotamkot VDC ward-5, and Pashupati Budha, 22, of Syalakhadi VDC ward-7 of the district.
The three have been charged of looting the amount from Shiva Pun of Narching VDC of Myagdi and Kisan Ghartimagar of Taman VDC of Baglung.
Deputy Superintendent of Police. Kisan Singh Thapa said investigation into the case is underway.
