MAOIST GC ORGANIZATION COMMITTEE MEETS Kathmandu, 24 July: The first meeting of the Maoist general convention (GC) chaired by Chairman Prachanda meets Tuesday after conclusion of a rowdy plenary session—the first in 18 months. ‘The meeting will take decisions to implement decisions of the plenum, “ said Haribol Gajurel. The committee is also the secretariat of the GC after dissolution of the central committee and other top bodies of the UCPN Maoist. A date for the GC sometime around mid-February 2013 could also be decided. The main agenda of Tuesday’s meet is to appoint other members of the secretariat. ‘Between 150 to 160members from among 175ebers have to be appointed,” Gajurel said. The impact of the plenum on national politics will also be reviewed. nnnn
