MAOIST RAPIST LEADER ARRESTED Kathmandu, 21 July: Police has arrested a district secretariat member of the UCPN-Maoist, Baitadi, on the charge of raping a local girl, RSS reports from Baitadi. Ganjari Police Post arrested Ramsingh Saud 'Roshan', a resident of Sigas -4 from his home. Police took him under control acting on the petition filed by the victimised girl, saying the girl, a relative of Roshan was raped in Patan in Baitadi while she was coming to district headquarters on July 14. The seventeen -year -old girl was raped when they stayed at Hotel Panas Palace in Patan Bazaar while being brought to district headquarters on a motorcycle assuring her help to get a citizenship certificate, said DSP Bishnu Bahadur Karki. Relatives said it was only revealed after she returned home after getting the citizenship as she was given threats of taking life if the incident was revealed. Police said the report is yet to come although her health check was conducted in the District Hospital. The victimized side has also filed petition at the Inter-Party Women's Network for legal cooperation, according to the Network. nnnn
