MAOISTS HINDERING DEMOCRACY INSTITUTIONALIZATION
CLAIMS MADHAV KUMAR NEPAL
Kathmandu, 22 July:: Leader of the CPN-UML Madhav Kumar Nepal has claimed that the present government led by the UCPN-Maoist was an obstacle to institutionalizing democracy and change in the nation, RSS reports.
At the two-day cadres orientation organized by the party's sister wing- Youth Association- here on Sunday, leader Nepal accused the UCPN-Maoist and Madhesi Front of inviting confrontation to prolong the political transition.
He further said the election to the Constituent Assembly was impossible in present circumstance.
"Unity among all the political parties is a must to end transition," he said, adding that keeping the country in a state of indecision for long would not help protect achievements of the historic people's movement.
The controversial decisions made by the Maoist party time and again have jeopardized nationality, democracy and social movement, leader Nepal asserted.
Another leader of the party, KP Sharma Oli, said the government was adopting a tactic to prolong the transition by sticking to power.
He was of the view that the Maoist party was working to capture state power by imposing extremism in the camouflage of a revolutionary party.
General Secretary Ishwor Pokhrel pointed out the need for the youths to continue the struggle for democracy.
Youth Association Chairman Mahesh Basnet said the Association would mount pressure on the parties for forging a national consensus and forming a new government.
On the occasion, 200 youths were welcomed to the Youth Association by senior leader Nepal.

HELICOPTER MAKES EMERGENCY LANDING IN DOLPA
Kathmandu, 22 July: A helicopter that had left for Dunai of Dolpa from Kathmandu made an emergency landing due to adverse weather condition at Burtibang of Dolpa on Sunday, RSS reports from Bagluing..
The Mountain Helicopter had left Kathmandu at around 8:00 in the morning and faced adverse weather condition in the bordering region of Baglung and Rukum, forcing it to make an emergency landing at Burtibang, according to Area Police Office, Burtibang.
The helicopter has landed at the premises of the Office and would take off after the weather improves, said the Office quoting pilot of the helicopter, Deepak
