Rai was picked up along with 41 of his "aides," with whom he had entered the casino premises at 9 am to "murder" Tapta Bahadur Bista, police said. "It is learnt that a dispute has been brewing between Rai and Bista for a couple of months now after staffers in the casino accused Rai of misusing money collected in the employees' provident fund," DSP Dhiraj Pratap Singh, the spokesperson of the Metropolitan Police Range (MPR), Kathmandu, said. "As all the employees are supporting Bista, Rai may have taken Monday's step to display his might." Rai, who joined the casino as an employee around 12 years ago, holds 51 percent of the total share in Casino Anna, said Singh. Bista has 45 percent share. According to Singh, the situation worsened after a heated argument between Rai and Bista on Monday morning, with both the parties coming to blows. A team from the MPR reached the scene and intervened, arresting the assaulters. The arrestees are kept in custody in Hanumandhoka. Further investigation is on, police said. nnnn
