NC AGAIN DEMANDS PM’S RESIGNATION
Kathmandu, 15 July: Top leaders of the Nepali Congress (NC) have again stressed that Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai pave way for resolution of political and constitutional crisis and for the formation of a national consensus government by
tendering resignation, RSS reports.
Stating that constitution could not be written and new elections also could not be held without political consensus, they said that NC should be ready to take leadership of the government by forwarding roadmap of political and constitutional outlets.
At a four-day training organized by the Nepal Women's Association assisted by the Nepali Congress Policy and Training Academy in the Capital today, all the leaders, who participated in the training, said that a national consensus government should be formed on consensus of all parties.
The NC will not declare the name for prime minister without thinking and but will not lag behind to take the leadership as a favourable environment is created if the Prime Minister tendered his resignation.
Speakers at the programme also suggested that the party leaders forward clear views for giving an outlet to this political crisis.
Inaugurating the training, President of the NC, Sushil Koirala, said that elections announced without neglecting consensus has created constitutional and political crisis and added that elections were impossible due to legal obstructions.
Koirala added that the NC has forwarded consensus and discussions to give an outlet to crisis.
Similarly, senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba, said that elections of the Constituent Assembly (CA) could not be held and constitution could not be written without consensus.
Likewise, Vice-President Ram Chandra Paudel, and General Secretary, Prakash Man Singh, said that the country should get new leadership as the government led by Dr. Bhattarai has already been a failure.
Another General Secretary, Krishna Sitaula, said that outlet should be given to the country by forming a government under the leadership of NC.
On the occasion, Central Member Sujata Koirala, said that the party had not been able to give a clear outlook on important issues.
