NEPAL TELECOM TO PAY RS.19.61 BILLION IN TAXES TO GOVT. THIS FISCAL YEAR Kathmandu, 31 July: : The Nepal Telecom has set a target to pay total tax of Rs 19.61 billion to the government in the current fiscal year, RSS reports. The Company is set to pay the revenue amount on different headings that includes bonus, VAT, ownership tarrif, telecommunication service tax, income tax and royalties, informed at a press conference organised here on Tuesday. The telecommunication company had handed over total revenue amount of Rs 18.79 billion in the fiscal year 2068-69 BS. Likewise, the Company is expanding competitive capacity of its services by introducing new technologies such as Bi-Max, IP, CDMA, GSM and 3-G so as to expand its services in rural and urban areas this year. It was informed that the Company has allocated a budget of Rs 62.36 billion for the current fiscal out of which Rs 15.11 billion is for installing telephone lines. NTC Managing Director Amarnath Singh said the Company is bringing in new technologies to ensure quality of telecom services it has been providing to customers. NTC Spokesperson Surendra Prasad BK said an agreement was already signed to procure 4.8 million lines under the plan of expanding GSM services. nnnn
