ONE KILLED IN RAUTAHAT POLICE FIRING Kathmandu, 5 July: One person was killed in police firing Thursday at Mohammadpur in Rautahat and several others were injured over a simmering dispute over a tractor accident several days ago. A policeman was among several injured in clashes with locals Thursday. Locals torched a police beat. Nnnn SUSHIL KOIRALA, PRESIDENT MEET Kathmandu, 5 July: Main opposition NC President Sushil Koirala held discussions with President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav one day after opposition asked the head of state not to give assent to an ordinance announcing the annual budget 2069/70 by a caretaker government in the absence of parliament. The opposition said under special circumstances, the president has discretionary powers to use his conscience. The opposition has at the same time been asking the president to help broker a consensus between government and opposition. Nnnn ONE KILLED, FOUR INJURED IN TRUCK ACCIDENT Kathmandu, 5 July: One person was killed and four were injured Thursday after a trick fell 200 meters off a road at 5Kilo in Gorkha. One person died and three were injured overnight in a landslide triggered by rain two days walk from Gorkha district headquarters. Nnnn
