PADDY TRANPLANTATION DELAYED Kathmandu, 14 July: Paddy transplantation this year has been completed only in 28 percent farmland nation-wide and 19 percent in terai, agriculture ministry said. Paddy transplantation was completed in 36 percent farms by this time last year. Production falls with late transplantation. The production of the country’s staple is expected to decline after two bumper harvests. Nnnn 14th NATIONAL WOMEN’S FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP BEGINS SATURDAY Kathmandu, 14 July: The 14th women’s national football championship begins Saturday on knockout basis in Chandranighapur in Rautahar. Twenty-seven teams are participating, including teams of Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force (APF) for the next two weeks, A Rs. 300,000 has been set aside for the winner and Rs.150,000 for the runner-up.
