PM BHATTARAI ASSURES INTEGRATION OF FORMER MAOIST
FIGHTERS WILL BE HONOURABLE
Kathmandu, 7 July: One day after former PLA combatants walked out of cantonmentsr refusing to join the integration process to enter Nepal Army (NA),
Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai Saturday morning assured party
workers at a meeting of ’honourable integration’, his office said.
The premier is holding ‘serious discussions’ with concerned agencies, the
statement added.
The former fighters came out of cantonments and said hey were being
treated like new recruits in NC.
The walkout comes at a time when NC and UML, in the opposition and members of a special committee for integration headed ex-officio by the premier, said
they were not told of the integration move.
Chairman Mohan Baidhaya of CPN Maoist opposes integration calling it
surrender with weapons.

NEPAL BAR ASSOCIATION ELECTION SATURDAY
Kathmandu, 7 July: Elections are being held Saturday for 29 office
bearers of supreme court Nepal Bar Association (NBA), including chairman.
The vote is normally held on party lines.
kishna Bahadur Khadka of the ‘democratic panel’ is the outgoing chirman.
Ram Krishna Paudel and Mahendra Kant Mainali
are contesting he chairmanship.
