PM SPENDING SATURDAY NIGHT IN BHAKTAPUR VILLAGE Kathmandu, 7 July: Prime Minister is spending Saturday night at an undisclosed village in Bhaktapur to interact with villagers, his office said. Wife Hishila Yami accompanied him on his maiden stay at a village in the northern suburb of the capital last month launching the programe. The initiative was announced after government announced uncertain constituent assembly elections 22 November. The premier has cancelled a monthly programme to visit his home district Gorkha every month as a lawmaker. PM Bhattarai still answers questions of Radio Nepal listeners every month over state radio and attempts to keep in touch with people from his office in a programme called Hello Nepal with help of staffers. The programme has come under heavy criticism most recently. nnnn NEPALI KIDNEY RACKETEER HELD Kathmandu, 7 July: Police arrested Dipak Jha of Duhabi-7 in Sunsari district for his involvement in a girl's abduction for kidney smuggling. According to police, 39-year-old Jha was arrested while he was taking Sita Pradhan, 10, of Tankisinawari-2 to India after abducting her, RSS reports from Morang. A member of kidney smugglers, Jha is also an agent of Binod Yadav of Lalitgram, India, and was trafficking Pradhan to India in the condition of getting Rs 40,000 in return. Nnnn ROAD EXPANSION DRIVE SHIFTS TO SUBIDHANAGAR IN CAPITAL Kathmandu, 7 July: The road expansion drive is continued across the Kathmandu Valley. In this connection, the huts and houses built by encroaching upon the roads have been demolished from Subidhanagar to Parisdanda, Kathmandu Saturday, RSS reports. Police Inspector Shiva Pokhrel informed that 60-70 huts and house compounds were demolished as they were constructed by encroaching upon the road. Three dozers and two tippers were used to carry out the expansion drive in the area. The expansion begun this morning would continue till evening, Inspector Pokhrel said, adding that the infrastructures on road would be dismantled up to the Munibhairav Temple in this section. The extension drive is carried out with the participation of the Kathmandu Metropolis, locals, Road Department, Traffic Police and local associations. At a zonal level orientation organized for the party cadres in Janakpur today, Chairman Khanal said there were no conditions to hold election on November 22. So, it was a ploy to retain power, he argued. At a time there was no alternative to the national consensus, the arbitrary decision of the Prime Minister was neither political nor constitution, he said. Moreover, Chairman Khanal said the proposal of one Madhes, one province floated by Madhesi Morcha would split the country. He, further, said it was a sponsored demand. Nnnn
