PROBE OF LAHAN INCIDENT BEGINS
Kathmandu, 4 July: The High Level Probe Team formed for investigation of the beating by a police patrolling team at Hotel Bishal in Lahan in Siraha district has started investigation from Friday, RSS reports from Siraha. .
The three-member team led by convener and Home Ministry Joint Secretary Krishnahari Puskar started the probe.
Other members are Sagarmatha Zonal Police Office, Rajbiraj, Chief and SSP Govind Niraula and District Administration Office, Siraha, Assistant Chief District Officer, Janardan Gautam.
SSP Niraula's patrolling personnel who were involved in the beating were also enquired by Joint Secretary Puskar.
Patrolling police had beaten up Hotel Bishal owner and Chamber Former Chairman Niras Chaudhary, Hotel Manager Sunil Saha and hotel clients on Wednesday night following a tip off of some criminal staying in the hotel.
Lahan businessmen had resorted to agitation by closing markets after the beating.

GORKHA FLASH FLOODS DISPLACE 45 FAMILIES
Kathmandu, 14 July: A total of 45 families have been displaced when floods occurred in Arkhet river in Thumi VDC in the north of Gorkha district, RSS reports from Gorkha..
Settlements in both sides of the river were displaced from floods triggered by rains for the past three days, said VDC Secretary Tirtha Bhatta and informed that they have been taking shelter at their relatives'. As floods have not been subsided, more will be displaced, said a local Tara Bhatta.
Displaced Dhan Bahadur Gurung, Gopal Pariyar, Rajan Dahal and Ram Bahadur Dahal have called for state cooperation to them. Earlier, 14 houses had been displaced in the floods in June 25.
