RS.161.02B PARTIAL BUDGET ANNOUNCED
Kathmandu, 15 July: Finance Minister Barsha Man Pun Sunday announced a special four-month budget of Rs. 161.02 billion the fiscal year 2069/70 beginning Monday mainly to keep government running amid deep differences between government and opposition which has demanded resignation of Caretaker Prime Minister
Baburam Bhattarai’s resignation. .
Opposition leader Deb Gurung of CPN Maoist charged the budget
an expenditure limit set legally for a caretaker government by Rs.52 billion.
A caretaker administration can only announce a budget not exceeding one-third amount set earmarked in the current fiscal year.
A full budget has been announced only once in the last four years becase of political differences to affect the national economy.

UPDATE SEARCH CONTINUES FOR MISSING IN BUS PLUNGE
Kathmandu, 15 July: Army and police search and rescue teams continued to look for dozens of Indian and Nepali pilgrims still missing in a bus plunge into Gandaki canal Sunday afternoon.
Bodies of only 28 men, 10 women and one child have been recovered so far.
At least 120 passengers were in the bus.
Several swam to safety.
