UCPN MAOIST CENTRAL COMMITTEE MEET CONTINUES Kathmandu, 15 July: Discussions of Chairman Prachanda’s political report continues for the second and last day at the central committee (CC) preparing fort the party’s plenary session beginning Tuesday [not Monday as earlier reported]. The CC is laying the groundwork for the plenary session being held after 18 months The CC also meets following a split in the party, the largest, and leading the government. The five-day plenum will cost Rs.10 million. Nnnn MOHAN BAIDHAYA LEAVING FOR CHINA LATER SATURDAY Kathmandu, 15 July: Chairman Mohan Baidhaya of CPN Maoist launched after a split splitting with the ruling UCPN Maoist of Chairman Prachanda leaves for a 10-day visit after its immediate launch. Baidhaya has been invited by the Communist Party of China. The visit indicates China wants to maintain relationship with the new party. The invitation is an official recognition of the new party that split after ideological and personal differences. Politburo member India Mohan Sigdel will accompany Baidhaya. Sigdel called the visit ‘official’ on invitation of Ai Ping, a senior party functionary looking after South Asia. Ai personally visited Nepal recently invited Baidhaya; discussions were with Chairman Prachandai without a meting with Prime Minister ho is a party vie-chairman. Nnnn NEPALI DIES IN CAR CRASH IN AUSTRALIA Kathmandu, 15 July: Rajesh Khadka died Thursday in a car crash in Perth, Australia. He was driving the car which rammed into a tree. Khadka hailed from Baglung. nnnn FIRST WOMEN’S LEAGUE FOOTBALL Kathmandu, 15 July: The country’ first women’s football will be heldin Kanchanpur and Kailali January/ February 2013. This was disclosed Saturday by ANFA President Kamal Thapa. Details are yet to be announced.. nnnn RAUTAHAT TROUNCES NAWALPARASI Kathmandu, 15 July: Ratahat Saturday trounced 12-0 in the 14th National Women’s Football Championship in Chandranighapur being conducted ion knockout basis. .
