UML CHAIRMAN KHANAL BLAMES EXTREME LEFTISTS FOR CRISIS Kathmandu, 22 July: Chairman of the CPN-UML, Jhala Nath Khanal has said that the extreme leftist thought was the main cause of dissolution of the Constituent Assembly (CA) without promulgating constitution, RSS reports. Khanal made this remark at a programme organized here today by Pushpalal Memorial Foundation on the occasion of the 34th Memorial Day of Founding General Secretary of the Nepal Communist Party, Pushpa Lal Shrestha. He said that guidelines from Pushpa Lal have played a great role in historic revolts and achievements made in the country since 2007 BS. Chairman of the Foundation, Madhav Kumar Nepal, said that contribution made by Pushpa Lal for liberation of the Nepali people will always be immortal. Stating that thoughts of Pushpa Lal of establishing independent and prosperous Nepal— are relevant at present also, he stressed on moving ahead by adopting his thoughts and guidelines. On the occasion, Chairman Khanal, Senior leader Nepal, Vice-Chairman Bamdev Gautam, General Secretary Ishwor Pokhrel, Secretaries Yubraj Gyawali and Shankar Pokhrel, leader Amrit Bohara, among others, had garlanded on the statue of Pushpa Lal located at Pushpa Lal Memorial Park, Champadevi in Kirtipur. Meanwhile, in Dhading, leaders in the district said that Pushpa Lal was a true nationalist who was never deviated from the Communist principles and thoughts though various communist factions had blamed him. Paying tribute to Pushpa Lal at a programme organized by CPN-UML, Dhading, on the occasion of Pushpa Lal Memorial Day, members of the National Representatives' Council, Ram Prasad Adhikary and Januka Sinkhada, District Secretary of the Nepali Congress, Bhakta Bahadur Lama, District In-charge of the CPN-Maoist, Sher Bahadur Bhandari, among others, also expressed their views. They said that there is a need of statesmen for forwarding the country by uniting all in the context that the country's politics is in uncertainty after the death of leaders like BP Koirala, Pushpa Lal, Girija Prasad Koirala, Ganeshman Singh, Manmohan Adhikary and Madan Bhandari and expressed the confidence that co-work between communists and democrats would only resolve the political crisis. RSS Nnnn TWO MEDICAL STUDENTS MISSING AFTER DIVING INTO RIVER STILL MISSING IN CHITWAN Kathmandu, 22 July: Whereabouts of a boy and a girl, who had dived into the Narayani River from British Camp in Gaindakot-2 of Nawalparasi three days ago, have not been identified, RSS reports from Chitwan. The whereabouts of Ashish Bajgain of Kavrepalacnchowk-11 and Aruna Bhandari of Byas municipality-4, who were pursuing MBBS Third Year at Chitwan-based Bharatpur Medical College, have not been found yet, said Inspector at Area Police Office, Gaindakot, Birendera Thapa. Search for the missing is underway on the joint efforts of locals and police. Police have recovered a pulsar motorbike (Na 10 Pa 4824) and a bag with laptop from the place they jumped into the river. Locals informed the police immediately after Bajgain and Bhandari, who reached British Camp for sightseeing, jumped into the river all of a sudden. nnnn 62 GOATS KILLED BY LIGHTNING IN HUMLA Kathmandu, 22 July: A total of 62 goats died due to lightning at Daduna hill in Rip village of Sarkideu VDC in the southern belt of Humla district, RSS reports from Humla. Kalu Karki of the VDC who was in the district headquaerters, said that no human casualty was reported in the incident. Nnnn WILD ELEPHANT RAMPAGE IN PARSA Kathmandu, 22 July:: A bevy of wild tuskers that entered rural area in Shankermariya VDC of Parsa district from Parsa Wildlife Reserve last night has terrorized locals, RSS Reports from Parsa. The group of 15 wild elephants had eaten up and destroyed paddy planted in around 30 bighas of land at Sakhuniya village of Shankersaraiya VDC, said locals. The rampaging elephants had also destroyed the paddy cultivation of Binda Dahit Chaudhary, Roshan Dahit and Tulsi Rawat and also dismantled a rest house of local Sukhamar temple. said Rebati Ghimire, a local teacher. Locals have vented ire for the sides concerned showing no interest to prevent elephant rampage in village despite several approaching. nnnn
