UN CONFIRMED CHILD SOLDIERS AT CANTONMENTS AWAITING TO JOIN NA
Kathmandu, 10 July: UNMIN, the political arm of the UN in Nepal
immediately after Maoists joined the political mainstream, put child
workers in seven cantonments for integration in Nepal Army (NA), Nagarik reports Tuesday,
The 3,123 former PLA combatants in the cantonments are in addition to
those disqualified as child soldiers by the UN and sent out of the camps..
The serious allegations comes at a time when UNMIN left mid-January 2011
Without completing its mandate amid accusations by major parties, not Maoists, UN and its special Ian Martin had a pro-communist bias.
Martin is chief of UN in Libya and he was rejected by Israel after completing his Nepal assignment ..
“A problem has surfaced because of baemani [deceptions] by UN and the prime minister,” a source at the integration selection committee said, according toTuessday’s report in Nagarik.
‘Twenty-five percent who have opted for integration are unfit because of
age. They are child soldiers according to UNMIN verification.”
Those who have chosen integration are unfit because of age.
