UPDATE ALL BODIES IN UCPN MAOIST DISSOLVED FOR MID-FEB. GENERAL CONVENTION Kathmandu, 21 July: All bodies of the UCPN Maoist as dissolved Saturday ahead of a general convention in mid-February. Chairman Prachanda heads a committee to prepare for the convention. The party plenum approved Chairman Pachanda’s political report before concluding a five-day meet. With the CC dissolution, the party's Politburo and Standing Committee also have been automatically dissolved. Party chairman, vice chairmen and secretary, however, will maintain their positions as the central office. Members of the dissolved central committee will act as members of the convention organizing committee. The convention organising committee will include representatives of Dalit, Muslim, Madhesi and backward communities; women and senior leaders will also be included in the committee. . Likewise, the personal secretaries of senior leaders would be exchanged, and the changes would be made in the central secretariat. Prachand said he will vacate the luxurious villa in the Lazimpat unsuited to a leader of a proletariat and will use cheaper and smaller SUVs giving up a luxurious limousine provided by government. nnnn
