UPDATE OF FORMER KING’S PUJA Kathmandu, 2 July : Former King Gyanendra Monday offered jupa and worship at Laxmi Narayan and Durga temples in Kapilvastu. He interacted with people there. nnnn LIGHTNING CLAIMS 45 LIVES SO FAR Kathmandu, 2 July: A total of 141 people lost their lives in incidents of natural disasters across the country during two and half month period, RSS reports. According to National Emergency Operation Center, property worth around Rs. 13.76 million was destroyed in the incidents from the month of April/May till date. Forty five people died from lightning, 26 from floods and landslides, 34 from Seti river flood, 12 from fire, 16 from storm and eight from diarrhea during the period. The Centre said that 17 people lost their lives in flood and landslides in the country so far since June 15. It is said that there was a huge loss of property in Tanahun, Baglung and Sindhupalchowk districts, among other districts. nnnn
