Kathmandu, 22 July: UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal said Sunday the government declared 22 November election was impossible.
‘Election is impossible.” a frank Khanal said in front of election officials an Maoist and NC leaders at the office of the Election Commission (EC).
Khanal said a national understanding was needed for the vote
The EC summoned Khanal, Maoist Chairman Prachanda for consultations on the vote after government missed Sunday’s deadline to amend an interim
constitution and relevant election laws to facilitate the vote.
“The vote is still possible,” an election official said if amendments are received within one week.
The EC didn’t announce the vote was impossible after Sunday’s
consultations giving parties time to come to an understanding.

He gathered 71 percent votes and will be installed Wednesday,
