CASUALTY FIGURES IN SHAWAN Kathmandu, 6 Nov.: A total of 16 persons lost their lives due to floods and landslide in the country in the last month, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs, RSS reports.. Issuing a press release, the ministry said the floods took lives and damaged property in Kapilbastu, Dang, Banke, Baglung and other districts in the country. The ministry has stated that district natural disaster rescue committees are distributing necessary relief materials to the victims. The ministry also said that the level of water in the main three rivers has also receded. Similarly, a total of 22 persons lost their lives due to diarrhoea in this rainy season in Doti, Bajhang and Gorkha districts. The ministry said that the disease was brought under control and health workers have been mobilized in the affected areas. nnnn FOUR ARRESTED WITH 110 KG HASH Kathmandu, 6 Aug.: Four males were arrested Monday with 110 kg hashish worth one million rupees hidden in a truck going to heading to Hetauda from Tistung. The consignment was recovered during asecurity check at Bhainse/ Kanchha Lal and Bir Bahadur Bal of Tistung VDC-1, driver Ghana Shyam Chaudhary and helper Prabesh Yadav were arrested. Nnnn
