CHINA READY TO HELP NEPAL SAYS ENVOY Kathmandu, 2 Aug.: Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Yang Houlan has said that his country was eager to help Nepal as much as possible in its social and economic development endeavours, RSS reports. Stating that China continues to help uplift the living standard of Nepali people through technical and economic cooperation in various sectors, Ambassador Houlan said China-Nepal relations is based on equality, co-existence and mutual cooperation. He was speaking at a cultural program organised by Maitri Samaj Nepal to mark the 57th year of completion of the founding of diplomatic relations between Nepal and China. Acting Chief Secretary Lilamani Poudel emphasized on the need to benefit as much as possible from the economic prosperity gained by China, and said Nepalis too need to work with honesty and dedication like that of the Chinese people. He also reiterated the Government´s commitment towards the one-China policy. At the program organized to collect funds for the visually impaired students of the Saraswati Higher Secondary School in Sidhuwa of Dhankuta, Kunti Moktan, JB Tuhure and other artists sang their popular songs. Also presented on the occasion were Chinese songs and dances, and play on the faith healers of rural Nepal. nnnn ________________________________________
