COURT STOPS SECRETARY HADA’S TRANSFER TO PMO Kathmandu, 23 Aug.: The only woman secretary, Brindha Hada at the irrigation ministry got a transfer to the Office of the Prime Minister stopped temporarily Thursday. A single bench of the supreme court issued an order not to transfer her until a final verdict. The court also issued a notice o the government after Hada said her transfer violated civil service act. The government move her to the PMO to under newly appointed Chief Secretary Lilamani Paudel was seen as an attempt to humiliate her. Hada lost the race to be chief secretary and showed open dissent drwing the ire of Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai. Nnnn FOOD CRISIS HITS JUMLA Kathmandu, 23 Aug.: Jumla has faced severe food crisis as the Nepal Food Corporation (NFC) failed to transport the food grains in the district in time, RSS reeports. The NFC called an emergency meeting and urged the contractors to reach the rice to Jumla within 15 days of receiving it as it got moral pressure to do so after some media disseminated the news about the food crisis in Jumla last week. The Corporation, however, blamed the contractors for failing to supply the rice in time. Acting Deputy General Manager of NFC, Indra Prasad Sitaula, issued a press statement and said though the government claimed that it had urged to send additional food supply from Nepalgunj and Surkhet, the local people in the district and surrounding areas have been always compelled to return empty handed of late. The food crisis would be increased this year as the government did not provide transport grant in time, said NFC General Manager, Hari Narayan Shah. The government had provided Rs. 370 million as for the transport grant adding the food could not be supplied in time due to delay on releasing the amount of money allocated to this effect. Nnnn NEWSPAPERS IN UK WARED BY PALACE NOT TO PUBLISH NUDE PHOTOS OF PRINCE HARRY Kathmandu, 23 Aug The royal family warned the country´s newspapers not to publish nude photographs of Prince Harry cavorting with friends on holiday in Las Vegas, AFP reports from London. The photographs, published in the United States by celebrity news website TMZ.com, showed the third-in-line to the throne naked in a hotel suite. In one of the two photographs, the 27-year-old is pictured, apparently wearing only a watch and a necklace, covering his genitals with his hands while another person, who also appears to be nude, stands close behind him. In the other, he is bent over bear-hugging a second person, who also appears to be naked. It is not clear if the person is a man or a woman. Clarence House confirmed to AFP on Wednesday that the images were genuine. "At this time we don´t have a comment," a spokesman said, adding: "We may do later." It is rare for Clarence House to confirm the validity of such images, which raise questions about security surrounding the royal. The two images were taken at a private suite in theA royal spokesman later confirmed the family had contacted the Press Complaints Commission to request that British newspapers did not print the images, arguing it would be a breach of privacy. "He´s a great guy, and it was a huge honour to meet him," Lochte was quoted as saying, adding: "I definitely wasn´t going to take it easy on him!" It is not the first time Harry has taken on one of the world´s top sportsmen -- during a Caribbean tour in March, he managed to beat the world´s fastest man Usain Bolt in a joke race. Harry was in Las Vegas after hosting a charity event in San Diego. Known for his playboy reputation, the prince has tried to distance himself from that lifestyle. He caused outrage in 2005 when photographs of him attending a fancy-dress party wearing a swastika armband appeared in the press, and was forced to apologise in 2009 when video footage emerged of him calling an Asian colleague "our little Paki friend". The prince has also been pictured scuffling with a photographer and admitted to drinking under-age and smoking cannabis aged 17, but has recently presented a more grown-up image and stood in for the queen at the Olympics closing ceremony. A trained army helicopter pilot, he has expressed a strong interest in returning to serve in Afghanistan. His first stint there had to be cut short in 2008 when a media blackout was breached. It is not the first time British royalty has been embarrassed by leaked photographs with a topless picture of the Countess of Wessex, taken before she married Prince Edward, hitting the papers in 1999.
