FIVE MADESHBADI PARTIES IN GOVT. FOR FEDERAL DEMOCRATIC FRONT Kathmandu, 13 Aug.: United Democratic Madhesi Front has put forth a proposal to form a federal democratic front, RSS reports from Lalitpur. The meeting on Monday of the Front at the Sanepa office of the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (Democratic) concluded to form a different front of federalist forces. The meeting also discussed the possibility of all the Madhes-centric parties coming together to form a single party, said central member of MJF-D, Ram Janam Chaudhary. The concerned parties are also holding discussion on the policy and programs for the formation of a 22-party federal democratic front, including the ruling alliance. All senior leaders of the five parties represented in the Front attend the meeting that also deliberation on the government´s activities and the latest political situation. Nnnn GOVT. WARNS LPG DEALERS Kathmandu, 13 Aug.: The government has warned of taking stern action against the cooking gas industries if they waged a movement by going against the law, RSS reports. Speaking in a discussion programme organized by the Ntaional Consumers Forum here on Monday, government officials warned the gas industries of action if they stopped the supply of cooking gas. Secretary at the Ministry of Commerce and Supplies Lalmani Joshi said the State would not tolerate any activities that would cause inconvenience to consumers. "The government would take action as per the laws if the gas industrialists go against the existing laws; the misunderstandings could be resolved through talks," he said. Director General at the Department of Commerce and Supplies Management, Narayan Prasad Bidari, said that the state could not agree on the one-window policy and the misuse of the liberal economy that would have a negative impact on the consumers. "The government would not entertain conditions that contravene the laws. The state cannot agree to the argument that the state should take decisions based on the recommendation of a single organization," he said. Acting Executive Director of Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC), Suresh Kumar Agrawal said the cooking gas entrepreneurs would not be allowed to sell the fuel through one-window system and urged the entrepreneurs not to create hurdles in its supply. President of the Gas Industries Association Shiva Ghimire argued that their demands were justified, saying they were not in a position to operate their businesses. President of the National Consumers Forum, Prem Lal Maharjan, urged the entrepreneurs to not go against the interests of the consumers.
