Government Wednesday intervened and stopped a cultural programme being held at Sherpa Shewa Kendrain Baudha to mark the first anniversary of the assumption of office as prime minister of the Tibet government in-exile headed by Dr..Lopsang Sanghe. Police foiled an attempt to hold the cultural programme, Rajdhai reports.. . The programme was being held to carry out direction of Dalai Lama to conduct such programmes in 11 refugee camps in Nepal. nnnn INDIAN NATIONAL ARRESTED WITH ONE KG GOLD SMUGGLED IN FROM KHASA Kathmandu, 9 Aug.: Indian national Pitambar Paswan was arrested from Kalanki with one kg gold smuggled into the country from Khasa in China. Police raided jewelry shops in Bishal Bazzar Wednesday following his arrest and after confession. nnnn
