LANDSLIDE, LIGHTNING CAUSE EXTENSIVE DAMAGE IN SINDHUPALCHOWK Kathmandu, 26Aug.:: Dry landslide following Friday's lightning have destroyed property worth Rs. 150 million after the dry landslide buried farms of 10 families of Pauwa village in Sanosirubari VDC-9 in Sindhupalchowk district, RSS reports from Chautara.. The landslide that occurred at local Dhyangrebhir (cliff) has buried around 50 ropanis of land situated at Marse rivulet and its surrounding areas, a local Jagat Prasad Chaulagain said. A victim Narayan Prasad Dulal said that the landslide has buried around three kilometers area and thousand ropanis of paddy fields situated below it turn into sand banks if floods are caused following heavy rainfall. Victims complained that they are losing around 200 muris of rice crop planted in the farms after the landslide buried the paddy farms. Ten Dulal families including Dal Bahadur Dulal, Narayan Prasad Dulal and Guru Prasad Dulal expressed worries after they were deprived from their paddy farms as there was no possibility of regaining the paddy farm. nnnn CPN MAOIST VICE-CHAIRMAN SAYS FOUR-PARTY SYNDICATE SHOULD BE SMASHED Kathmandu, 26Aug.: Vice Chairman of the CPN-Maoist CP Gajurel has said the four-party syndicate should be broken, RSS reports. Nnnn GUEST HOUSES UNITE TO CURB FLESH TRADE The Nepal Guest House Entrepreneurs' Association has decided to bring a code of conduct in view of controlling the illegal flesh trade activities that are reported flourishing in the guest houses in Bagbazaar area in the capital. It is reported that as many as 60 guest houses are found running at Bagbazaar area. The guest house entrepreneurs here today organised an interaction in the capital and brought a seven-point code of conduct for the guest houses following public complaints that the guest houses in the area have been the centers where illegal flesh trade activities are flourishing. Any entrepreneurs running the guest houses in the Bagbazaar area would have to register their customers based on the identity cards with phone numbers and avoid providing the services to students in uniform and others who come seeking services without their identity. The Guest houses would have to paste the code of conduct at their notice boards to make the business prestigious and provide information when demanded by the security officers. Chief of the Metropolitan Police Range, Jay Bahadur Chand said it was all people's responsibility to stop the illegal activities like flesh trade that are reported in various public places like the Guest houses saying the national laws have not allowed such activities. Secretary of the Association, Yamlal Kandel, said number of youths that adopted flesh trade as a means of livelihood due to the increasing unemployment problem and assured that the association would provide jobs to 25 persons right now to encourage them to live secure and prestigious life. nnnn
