LIMBUWAN WORKERS TORCH TRACTOR IN MORANG Kathmandu, 21Aug.: Cadres of Integrated Autonomous Limbuwan Council affiliated to the Federal Democratic National Party set a tractor on fire in Morang on Tuesday, RSS reports from Urlabari. The cadres have vandalized other half a dozen tractors also. The Limbuwan cadres have formed a committee called Chure Forest Conservation Committee and banned export of stone, sand and pebbles from the Chure region. The committee was formed two months ago. However, Committee Secretary Prabesh Mibhak claimed that the arson was a warning to smugglers of natural resources from the Chure region. Smuggling of timbers is taking place here in the name of exporting sand, stones and pebbles from the region in connivance of tractor owners and the forest administration employees," he claimed. "Our frequent calls to stop export of natural resources from the Chure region have fallen on deaf ears," Prabesh said and warned that they would take a strong move if the smuggling of timber was not stopped at the earliest. The forest administration and tractor owners should take the responsibility for consequences, he added.
