MAOISTS EXTEND TENURE OF COMMISSION PROBING ASSETS OF CENTRAL LEADERS Kathmandu, 10 Aug: A three-member internal commission headed by Amik Serchan received permission from the party to work for three more days to complete study of assets owned by central leaders. The tenure pf the commission ended Thursday. Serchan said it is still getting confidential reports of assets owned by leaders amid criticism of luxurious lifestyle of top leaders who have abandoned revolutionary communist ideals. The commission is probing assents of top leaders, including Chairman Prachanda and Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai. nnnn MUSTANG RAJA SERIOUSLY SICK Kathmandu, 10 Aug.: Raja of Mustang Jigme Parbal Bista is seriously sick. He’s suffering high blood pressure and uric acid. He’s sick at his palace in Lomanthang, Mustang, aides said, according to published reports.
