NC ESTABLISHMENT IN A SHOW OF FORCE WITH DEUBA; DIFFERENCES TO BE TAKEN UP AT SATUDAY’S CENTRAL COMITTEE MEET
Kathmandu, 18 Aug.: The NC central working committee continues for the third consecutive day Saturday and will discuss internal differences and national issues.
Differences in the party have heightened after the policy making body
approved by majority vote Friday creation of 12 new departments in the party, icludinga disciplinary committee, opposed by Sher Bahadur Deuba camp.
Deuba group is in a minority in the committee , the vote suggested; the creation of new departments without consultation and the vote is being taken up Saturday.
The meeting is also discussing an internal report prepared by Bhim Bahadur Tamang to address demands for ethnic and indigenous people for ethnic identity
based federal provinces now being pushed by a 21 parties through a
body headed by Maoist Chairman Prachanda.
UCPN Maoist and five Madeshbadi parties have taken a lead of forming
and pushing such a federal structure.
CPN Maoist Chairman Mohan Baidhya says the formation of the front is a
Prachanda ploy to become prime minister.
