NEPALIS SAFEI IN INDIA SAYS FOREIGN MINISTRY
Kathmandu, 21 Aug.: The Foreign Ministry has said Nepalis living in the southern cities of India, including Banglore and Chennai, are all safe and appealed to all not panic over the rumour of attack on them, RSS reports.
"Nepalis were not attacked in southern India, " Ministry Spokesperson Arjun Bahadur Thapa said, adding, he was receiving information from Nepali Embassy in India frequently over the rumour and recent developments.
He, however, said there were some untoward incidents occurred in India over her own citizens of the northern part.
Therefore, Nepali students in India were suggested to remain aloof from the hooliganisms and bear identity cards.
Similarly, the Indian government has been requested for the security of Nepalis including the students.
Spokesperson Thapa told the National News Agency (RSS) that the Indian government has committed security to the Nepalis there and told not to be panicked.
The Nepalis living in India were panicked over the rumour that the Indian citizens of the northeast were being revenged after the ethnic violence occurred in Asam some time back.
